The 7th edition of the Cairo International Short Film Festival will shine a spotlight on two key figures in Egyptian cinema: director Marwan Hamed and composer Rageh Daoud.
Hamed, whose work includes 'The Yacoubian Building', 'The Blue Elephant' and 'Kira & El Gin', is known for bringing contemporary Egyptian stories to the big screen with scale and precision. Daoud, a leading composer and long-standing music educator, has shaped the sound of countless films with scores that bridge classical composition and modern storytelling.
Both artists will receive the Golden Tower for their artistic careers at the festival’s opening on December 16th, 2025 at the Cairo Opera House.
Dedicated to short films from around the world, Cairo International Short Film Festival provides a space where new voices, experimental forms, and emerging talent meet audiences in an intimate format.
