Adel Emam to Be Honoured at Fifth Egyptian American Film Festival
The festival returns with new awards, a broader reach, and a tribute to one of Arab cinema’s most enduring icons.

Adel Emam will be honoured at the fifth edition of the Egyptian American Film Festival, set to run from October 31st to November 4th, 2025. Held across New York, New Jersey, and, for the first time, Tennessee, this year’s edition will celebrate Emam’s remarkable legacy as a defining figure in Egyptian and Arab cinema.
A special programme titled ‘The Leader’s Films’ will showcase some of his most influential works, including ‘Toyour al-Zalam’, ‘Al-Erhabi’, ‘Al-Ghoul’, ‘Al-Mansi’, ‘Al-Erhab we Al-Kabab’, ‘Al-Ensan Ya’eesh Marra Waheda’, and ‘Al-Avocado’. The retrospective complements the festival’s 2025 theme, ‘Cinema for Humanity’, which highlights the role of film in shaping and reflecting social values.
Founded in 2021, the Egyptian American Film Festival aims to elevate the visibility of Egyptian, Arab, and African cinema in the United States while fostering cultural exchange through film. Alongside competitions, workshops, and curated screenings, this year’s homage to Emam stands as the festival’s centrepiece—acknowledging his lasting influence on generations of audiences and filmmakers worldwide.
