US-based software platform Replit has raised $400 million in a Series D funding round that values the company at $9 billion.
The round was led by Georgian with participation from investors including Qatar Investment Authority and other global backers. The funding will support continued development of artificial intelligence tools, alongside expansion across Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
Founded in 2016, Replit develops AI-powered tools designed to simplify software development and allow users to build applications through a browser-based environment. The company said its platform now serves more than 50 million users.
According to Replit, employees from around 85% of Fortune 500 companies use the platform to build software, prototypes and internal tools. The company cited enterprise software firm UKG as one example of an organisation using the platform for rapid prototyping and product development.
Replit said the new capital will also support the infrastructure needed to meet rising demand for AI-assisted development tools.
Alongside the funding announcement, the company introduced Agent 4, its latest AI development agent designed to automate coding tasks, manage workflows and operate multiple AI agents within a single project environment.
The company has also expanded integrations with technology firms including Google, Microsoft, Slack, Stripe and Databricks to help teams move projects from prototypes to production systems.
Replit said it expects to reach $1 billion in annual run-rate revenue by the end of 2026 as adoption of AI-assisted software development tools continues to expand.
