AI Artist AIRI Debuts at Art Dubai 2024

Art Dubai 2024 wasn't just about established names. This year, a groundbreaking collaboration between Dubai's Erma Gallery and Abu Dhabi's AA Meta stole the show with the introduction of a new kind of artist: AIRI, the digital influencer.

Born - or, rather, coded - from Abu Dhabi AIRI is an AI artist brought to life with the help of Unreal Engine 5 and AA Meta's advanced prompt engineering. The virtual avatar’s work centres around environmental consciousness and cutting-edge technology, creating a fusion of the material and the virtual.

The minds behind AIRI see digital art as a future where creativity sparks positive change, forging a deeper connection between humanity and the environment. To this end, they plan on working with established and emerging talents to create impactful work that resonates on a global scale.

Alongside AIRI's launch, Erma Gallery also showcased Philip Colbert's iconic ‘The Lobster’ collection, complete with his captivating performative robot, ‘The Uber LobstarBot’, for the first time in Dubai.

Founded in 2023, Erma Gallery, under the leadership of Evgeniia Berezhnova, is an art centre that focuses on technology-driven exhibitions. Their work frequently aligns with that of AA Meta, an Abu Dhabi holding company championed by Nikolay Dmitriev.

Erma Gallery and AA Meta's vision extends beyond the physical world, having recently announced the launch of a digital gallery within the Fortnite metaverse.
