Styled Archives: The Most Memorable Times Celebs Posed By The Pyramids

Throughout the decades, stars and starlets near and far have travelled thousands of kilometres (and yes, any system but the metric is bogus) to snatch that one perfect snapshot with the Pyramids of Giza - and the Sphinx too, we see you, don’t fret. Walking (and posing) like Egyptians, for this week’s edition of Styled Archives, we’re turning back time to take a look at some of the celebrities who fulfilled their dreams of posing by one of the last remaining ancient wonders of the world.

Posing with renowned Egyptian archaeologist Zahi Hawass, the Queen B herself pursued a minor in Egyptology (uhm, this is a joke, not a fact) during her trip to Egypt back in 2009, looking every bit the angel in an all-white ensemble complemented by a statement neck-piece.

Diana, Princess of Wales

On a royal engagement in Egypt back in 1992, the people’s princess donned an ivory two-piece ensemble as she flashed a smile to the reporters.

Salma Hayek

Serving ‘If Indiana Jones was a Latina mom’ in comfort wear, Hayek posed for a picture at the Giza plateau with her husband Francois Henri, Egyptian Archaeologist Zahi Hawass, and her daughter Valentina.

Paris Hilton

Paris Hilton? More like Cairo Marrio- Haha, sorry. Riding a camel in signature Paris pizzazz, the reality television icon wore an outfit that just screams ‘Y2K’.

Alicia Keys

The heat was on back in the summer of 2018, but this girl was not on fire. Posing in print, the American singer and songwriter was in a true ‘empire state of mind’ by the Pyramids.

Katy Perry

While not necessarily archival given 2019 was…(uhm, how many years ago now?) The ‘Dark Horse’ singer roared at the Pyramids at night, glammed up in gold.

Mariah Carey

All we want for (next) Christmas is for Mariah Carey to come back and recreate this iconic image. One of the first western female pop stars to perform at the pyramids, Carey stunned in an ankle-length dress that paid homage to Pharaonic attire.

Gearing up for a night of soulful vocals, Dalida was captured wearing a strapless lime green blouse complemented by a pair of olive green trousers, and completed with a simple set of gold jewellery.

Frank Sinatra

Flying audiences to the moon, Sinatra’s concert by the Pyramids saw him donning a simple white linen set.

During her 2007 concert by the Pyramids, Shakira took some time to herself to explore the sandy grounds around, riding atop a camel with a headscarf wrapped around her head.
