Hadia Ghaleb Drops Five USD 30K Diamond & Gold 'Aleb Ghaleb' Sunnies
Step inside Hadia Ghaleb’s launch in collectable fine-jewelry eyewear as she unpacks IRAM partnership, five-only selection process, and the craft behind designing with 355 diamonds and 18K gold.
Hadia Ghaleb’s next chapter arrives this time with jewelry powerhouse IRAM. The Cairo-born, Dubai-based founder of Hadia Ghaleb the Brand pivots into fine-jewelry eyewear by re-releasing five diamond and gold-encrusted “Al-Aleb Ghaleb' sunnies in collab with the jewelry house.
With only five pieces in the entire world, the sunglasses are designed to be collectable art pieces. Encrusted with 355 diamonds of the highest quality, combining round and princess cuts to perfectly trace the curves and dots of the Al-Aleb Ghaleb statement. The frame includes 40 grams of 18K gold, and the total diamond weight reaches 16 carats.
“The inspiration came from my mother, who always tells me, ‘Hadia, you look great, Al-Aleb Ghaleb anyway,’” Ghaleb says. “I wanted to immortalize this phrase on a pair of statement sunglasses. It’s a play on words that connects my last name, Ghaleb, with this iconic Arabic expression, turning it into something deeply personal yet universally resonant.” The sentiment is intimate; the execution is maximal.
Developed with IRAM Jewelers, every element has been designed to showcase the precision and artistry of fine jewelry. “We faced the challenge of setting 355 diamond stones onto the sunglasses in a way that was both durable and refined,” she explains. “The diamonds are mounted on a base of gold, which required meticulous engineering to ensure the frame remained lightweight and comfortable while maintaining structural stability. After countless trials, we achieved the perfect balance: elegance without compromise.”
Launching November 15, access is deliberately gated. “Each pair is reserved for a true connoisseur, someone who already embodies the essence of both brands and appreciates craftsmanship as art,” Ghaleb says. Interested clients must schedule a private appointment at IRAM’s Dubai showroom. Afterward, both teams review the request before approving the purchase. The price – $30,000 – lands less as hype than as a ledger of materials and labor.
If early Hadia Ghaleb defined a visual community, “Al-Aleb Ghaleb” defines a collector. And it sets a tone for what’s to come. “This is just the beginning of a series of collectible, ultra-limited editions where creativity knows no bounds,” she says, “so stay tuned.”
