Missoni Is Bringing Its Resort Club to Egypt’s North Coast

Fashion usually asks us to imagine. A dress suspended from a rail must somehow conjure the dinner, the destination and the more beguiling version of oneself who might wear it. Missoni’s new Resort Club on Egypt’s North Coast dispenses with much of that imaginative labour. Here, the customer seizes to observe the world of the brand and instead, they’re asked to spend the day inside it.

Opening this summer at Villa Coconut Hotel, within LMD’s Zoya Ghazala Bay, the project marks Missoni’s first Resort Club in Egypt and on the African continent. The hotel and beachfront will be recast in emerald green, lime, turquoise and brilliant yellow, with the house’s zigzags travelling across sunbeds, umbrellas, towels, cushions and beach accessories.

The transformation is unusually well suited to Missoni. Since Ottavio and Rosita Missoni founded the house in 1953, its zigzags and discordant colour combinations have become identifiers in their own right. At Villa Coconut, those codes are being enlarged across umbrellas, upholstery and beach accessories.

Missoni has already taken its Resort Club concept to destinations including Ibiza, Mykonos, Bali, Capri, Sicily and the Maldives. Together, they form a recognisable itinerary of contemporary leisure. Ghazala Bay’s addition to it places Egypt within an international hospitality strategy that treats resorts as both destinations and three-dimensional expressions of a fashion house.

That strategy is commercially consequential. In 2025, Missoni reported revenue of €130 million, an increase of 5%, while identifying resort mini-boutiques, digital investment and communications among its areas for growth. The Resort Club at LMD’s Zoya Ghazala Bay allows those ambitions to converge - physical retail, hospitality, social visibility and brand-building occur within the same stretch of beach.

For LMD, the collaboration gives Zoya something increasingly valuable in a crowded coastal market - a specific cultural identity. Missoni supplies Villa Coconut with an aesthetic vocabulary already understood across fashion, interiors and hospitality, while Zoya gives that vocabulary an Egyptian setting and audience.

The location is hardly incidental. For several months each year, Egypt’s North Coast becomes a seasonal second capital, absorbing restaurants, retail, entertainment and much of Cairo’s social life. Missoni is not arriving in an undeveloped leisure culture and teaching it how to summer. It is entering one already governed by long afternoons, late dinners and an intense awareness of what people wear, photograph and take home.

What visitors receive is therefore more substantial than access to another international boutique or resort club. They can see how a Missoni pattern behaves at the scale of a room, how its colours converse with the Mediterranean and how an object changes once it becomes part of a lived day. At Villa Coconut, LMD and Missoni have supplied the context in full.
