Over the past fortnight, there has been a burst of new releases across the Middle East and North Africa region, spanning all kinds of genres and styles, from alternative, folk and metal rock to R&B, experimental pop and electronics.

In this new edition of our cocktail playlist, ‘Shuffle’, we highlight the standout singles, collabs and remixes that came out and are about to be on the loop in our office headquarters for the next few weeks or so.

The playlist features Egyptian R&B artist Kairokid with ‘Ghariba’, and Kuwaiti-Palestinian artist Etaf with another assertive, straight-in-your-face type of tune ‘I Got You’, with Brussels-based Algerian Kamoun adding an experimental bass twist on Cheb Khaled’s iconic ‘Aïcha’ tinged with avant-garde sensibility and tribal percussion.

Meanwhile, Lebanese sensation Zuhal debuts a trippy lo-fi electronic single, ‘SHLK’, and renowned Berlin-based producer Johannes Albert flips Daddy Squad, Misty and Taymour’s latest ‘I Won’t Stop’ into a summer instrumental anthem remix.
