International Music Summit to Launch First MENA Edition in Dubai
On November 14th and the 15th, IMS will bring together the region’s professionals to reflect on the state of the music industry.
The International Music Summit (IMS), a renowned platform for electronic music in Ibiza, is set to make its MENA debut in Dubai from November 14th to the 15th.
“This year, IMS lands in MENA as a response to the region’s growing importance in the global music scene,” the IMS founders tell SceneNoise. “Our goal is to inspire continued growth, support, and investment while addressing the unique cultural challenges musicians and start-ups face.”
Hosted by IMS co-founder and legendary DJ Pete Tong, the summit promises a dynamic agenda packed with discussions and keynotes. Topics will cover trends, innovations, and challenges facing the music community, with speakers from YouTube, Warner Music Group, Anghami, Tomorrowland, CAA, and Defected. Timmy Mowafi of SceneNoise and MO4 Network will moderate a panel focused on Egypt’s vibrant electronic music market.
“Electronic music culture is built on long-standing principles of bringing people together from diverse backgrounds,” the IMS founders add.“Music has the power to unify, and we all have a part to play in creating safer spaces for all.”
The event will also feature a stellar lineup of artists and speakers. Pioneering house music duo Deep Dish will return to the spotlight after a hiatus, while Abdelrahman of the Egyptian duo Gawdat, British-Lebanese DJ and producer Saliah, Egyptian DJ and co-founder of Dhamma collective Yasmeen Selectress, and French/Iranian artist Parvané will also share their insights. US-based producer Stryv will be interviewed by Pete Tong, discussing his genre-defining style and the global impact of his hit ‘Move’.
The summit will also feature exclusive evening events. On November 14th, the local underground collective Duck Soup will headline at Farrago, W Dubai - Mina Seyahi, followed by an all-women lineup for the after-party. The festivities will continue with the closing party at Hive, Soho Garden, on November 15th.
With its focus on investment, entrepreneurship, and emerging trends, IMS Dubai aims to celebrate the rich cultural heritage and innovative spirit of the MENA region. Tickets for the summit will be available starting September 19th, with a portion of proceeds supporting climate action through IMS's charity partner EarthPercent.
