Gharam Electric Drops Laid-Back Synths-Pop Single 'Yom Lek w Yom Alek'
Serving as the first preview from his upcoming album Afterlove, the track finds the Lebanese artist still in his lover-boy register, but approaching it with a more light-footed, optimistic tone.
As Gharam Electric, Wassim Bou Malham has carved out a distinct place in Lebanon’s music scene, fusing Arabic indie rock nostalgia with a futurist edge.
Following his 2025 single 'Love in Hijaz', where he leaned into traditional Middle Eastern scales, Gharam Electric shifts direction on his latest release 'Yom Lek W Yom Alek'. Here, he trades signature textures for a more contemplative, laid-back synth-pop sound with a subtly sultry undertone.
Mixed and mastered by Egyptian producer 200 Shams, the track layers soulful grooves with synth-driven arrangements that recall a looser, more unhurried take on later-era Tame Impala. Wassim’s vocal delivery remains chill and effortlessly ghostlike, unfolding reflective lyrics that sit with the lingering ambiguities of post-relationship aftermaths.
Serving as the first preview from his upcoming album Afterlove, 'Yom Lek w Yom Alek' finds the Lebanese artist still in his lover-boy register, but approaching it with a more light-footed, quietly optimistic tone.
