UAE Approves AED 1 Billion Fund to Support Key Industries

A national fund valued at AED 1 billion has been approved to support vital industries, with a focus on strengthening local production and supply chain resilience. The initiative, approved by Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, is designed to accelerate the localisation of key products and expand the use of artificial intelligence across production, operations and strategic planning.
The fund will target sectors linked to national priorities, including food security and essential manufacturing, with objectives that include increasing domestic production capacity, building strategic reserves and reinforcing value chains.
Alongside the fund, a policy has been introduced to expand the presence of UAE-made products across retail outlets and e-commerce platforms. The first phase will focus on essential goods such as bottled water, dairy products, eggs, poultry, bread, flour, vegetable oils and seasonal produce, with implementation coordinated between government entities, private sector partners and retailers.
The measures also include the expansion of the National In-Country Value Programme, making participation mandatory across federal entities and national companies to further support local procurement and industrial growth. Additional initiatives are being prepared ahead of the upcoming Make it in the Emirates 2026 platform in Abu Dhabi, which is expected to host more than 120,000 visitors and over 1,000 exhibitors across 12 industrial sectors.
These plans include the launch of a national quality infrastructure platform to enhance the competitiveness of local products, a start-up centre to connect entrepreneurs with investors, and the establishment of the House of Industry as a national museum documenting the development of the UAE’s industrial sector.
A National Industrial Data Committee has also been approved to coordinate industrial data, improve access and support real-time decision-making across the sector.
