Ticketless Parking Introduced at Three Yas Island Destinations
Introduced with PARKONIC, the new system uses number plate recognition to automate parking payments without tickets or barriers.
Yas Island has introduced a new ticketless, barrier-free parking system at Yas Marina, Yas Bay Waterfront and West Yas Plaza in partnership with PARKONIC, replacing paper tickets and parking barriers with automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) technology.
The new system scans vehicle licence plates as motorists enter and leave participating car parks, automatically calculating parking fees based on the duration of each visit. Drivers with a linked Salik account will have charges deducted automatically, while payments can also be made via SMS or the PARKONIC app.
Parking charges remain unchanged under the new system, as do existing benefits available to eligible diners, gym members and beach visitors.
The new parking system is designed to streamline the visitor experience by eliminating physical tickets, barriers and manual payment while maintaining the existing fee structure.
