Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre Launches Interactive Hijri Calendar

The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre has launched an interactive UAE Hijri calendar on its website, giving users access to prayer times, Hijri months and religious, national and international events alongside corresponding Gregorian dates.

The Centre is the official body responsible for preparing and issuing the UAE Hijri calendar, determining prayer times and establishing the beginnings of Hijri months in the country. The digital platform also includes educational material on lunar cycles, seasons and related astronomical events, alongside information drawn from inherited knowledge connected to the local environment.

The wider UAE Hijri Calendar system includes a smart application and two reference books. The Hijri Calendar includes prayer and tide times, supplications and information on the virtues and events associated with different Hijri months. Al Durur wa Al Tawali’ covers topics including seasons, constellations, winds, sea conditions, lunar phases and their relationship with tides.

Both publications can be accessed through the UAE Hijri Calendar website, while physical copies are also available at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Library.
