Saudi Government Adopts Ibram for Digital Signatures

The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) has unveiled Ibram, a new platform that allows government entities to electronically sign, seal and verify official documents, streamlining transactions while maintaining security and legal validity.

More than 87 government entities are already using the platform through Saudi Arabia's digital certification system. According to SDAIA, Ibram creates a trusted environment for electronic transactions by authenticating identities, protecting document integrity and enabling documents to be signed and verified instantly.

The platform offers two core services: digital seals and digital signatures. Digital seals are issued to government entities to verify the identity of the issuing authority while ensuring a document's integrity and legal validity. Digital signatures, meanwhile, are issued to government employees, allowing them to verify their identity and formally approve official documents.

The launch forms part of SDAIA's broader efforts to equip government entities with advanced digital tools that improve the efficiency of public services and administrative procedures. The authority said the initiative also supports Saudi Vision 2030 by accelerating digital transformation, strengthening government performance and contributing to the Kingdom's goal of building a sustainable digital economy.
