SAR 13.3 Billion Awarded for Six Makkah Development Sites
The awards cover more than 2.7 million square metres across Jurhum South, Al Khalidiyah, Al Hajlah and Al Hindawiyah.
Development rights for six sites across Makkah, with a combined value of SAR 13.3 billion, have been awarded by the Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites as part of a wider urban development programme.
The sites span more than 2.7 million square metres and are located in Jurhum South, Al Khalidiyah, Al Hajlah, and the Al Hindawiyah East, South and West districts.
According to the commission, the sites have been assigned to qualified investment and development consortia that will oversee the next stages of planning and implementation.
The awards form part of a broader package of initiatives aimed at improving quality of life and advancing sustainable urban development across Makkah.
The programme focuses on redeveloping priority neighbourhoods, improving land-use efficiency, and upgrading infrastructure, public services and the urban environment in targeted areas.
According to the commission, the projects are guided by a comprehensive development vision that prioritises residents' quality of life while preserving Makkah’s local identity and urban character.
Planned improvements include enhancements to housing, mobility networks and public services, while also taking into account the rights of property owners and residents alongside social and developmental considerations.
