Robert De Niro & SODIC Celebrate Nobu Expansion Across Egypt
Robert De Niro, Meir Teper, Trevor Horwell and SODIC's Ayman Amer marked Nobu's expansion into Egypt.
In London, at Nobu Hotel Portman Square, American actor and Nobu co-founder Robert de Niro joined Meir Teper and CEO Trevor Horwell alongside SODIC General Manager Ayman Amer to celebrate the next chapter of their luxury partnership across Egypt.
At its centre is Nobu Hotel and Nobu Residences North Coast, set within SODIC’s OGAMI development on Egypt’s Mediterranean coastline. Building on the seasonal Nobu restaurant that debuted there last year, the destination will bring the brand’s world into a more permanent rhythm of residences, hotel living, dining, wellness, and service shaped by the sea, by design and by Nobu’s sense of restraint.
The partnership will also extend into the capital. Nobu New Cairo is set to open this week at Eastown District New Cairo, ahead of a future Nobu Hotel in 2027, while a third Nobu Hotel and Residences will rise on the Western front, placing residents within reach of the Giza Necropolis and the Grand Egyptian Museum.
“We’re excited to be bringing Nobu to Egypt in such a meaningful way,” Nobu Matsuhisa, Robert De Niro and Meir Teper shared. “The restaurants are the first expressions of a much larger vision, with three Nobu destinations taking shape across the country, from the Mediterranean coastline to New Cairo and West Cairo.”
For SODIC, the collaboration is part of a wider ambition to shape destinations with long-term cultural and lifestyle value. As Amer puts it, the partnership brings together “two brands that share a commitment to quality, elevated experiences and long-term value creation.”
