Riyadh Digital District Targets Global Top 10 Tech Hub Status
The new district will focus on AI, cybersecurity, cloud computing, IoT, blockchain, robotics and digital entrepreneurship.
Riyadh Digital District has been launched with the goal of positioning the Saudi capital among the world’s top 10 technology regions.
The Royal Commission for Riyadh City said the district will provide an integrated business environment for technology companies, startups, investors and specialised talent, supported by advanced digital infrastructure and dedicated services.
Its focus will span six fields: artificial intelligence and big data, cybersecurity, cloud computing and services, the Internet of Things, blockchain technology, and robotics and drones.
The district will also offer specialised incentives for large and medium-sized digital companies, fast-growing firms and innovative startups, with the aim of attracting more international technology businesses and expanding Riyadh’s digital entrepreneurship ecosystem.
The initiative builds on Saudi Arabia’s recent performance across global technology indices. The Kingdom ranked second globally in the World Bank’s 2025 GovTech Maturity Index and first in the 2025 ICT Development Index, while also placing among leading countries in the Stanford AI Index 2025.
Riyadh also topped the StartupBlink 2026 index for growth, recording the fastest expansion among the world’s top 100 startup cities and G20 capitals.
