Riyadh Airport Temporarily Suspends Operations Following Attack
Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Ministry urges citizens affected by flight cancellations and delays to contact the Kingdom’s diplomatic missions abroad for assistance.
Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport has temporarily suspended operations after another attack on Saturday, October 10th, 2026, injured several people, Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) announced.
“This attack comes amidst ongoing blatant assaults targeting civil aviation facilities in the Kingdom,” GACA said in a statement on X, adding that “the exact number” of those injured was still being determined as authorities assessed the damage.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has urged citizens whose travel plans have been disrupted by cancellations or delays on flights bound for Riyadh to contact Saudi diplomatic missions in their current countries for assistance and guidance.
King Khalid International Airport has also advised passengers to contact their airlines before travelling to the airport. Travellers should check directly with their airlines for the latest flight information and possible schedule changes.
The latest strike follows a series of attacks on Saudi aviation infrastructure earlier this week, including strikes on King Khalid International Airport and Abha International Airport, as well as an attack on a Saudia aircraft. The earlier attacks resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries.
