Premium Food Mark Launched for Chilled Chicken in Abu Dhabi
The programme introduces higher standards to improve poultry quality and safety.
A new certification programme for locally produced chilled chicken has been introduced in Abu Dhabi to raise quality and safety standards across the poultry sector.
The Premium Food Mark was launched by the Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority during the Make it in the Emirates 2026.
The programme sets technical standards that exceed minimum UAE requirements for chilled chicken products, covering the full production chain including farming, feeding, slaughtering, processing, packaging, and distribution. Requirements also address animal welfare, sustainability, and product quality.
Officials said the certification is intended to improve food safety outcomes, strengthen supply chains, and increase the competitiveness of locally produced poultry products.
