No International School Licensed to Offer Homeschooling in Egypt
The Ministry of Education said homeschooling is not permitted under Egyptian law and warned parents against unauthorised programmes.
No international school operating in Egypt has been licensed to provide homeschooling programmes, according to the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, which reiterated that homeschooling is not permitted under Egyptian law.
The ministry urged parents to verify that schools comply with approved educational regulations and warned against enrolling children through unauthorised entities or programmes. All schools operating in Egypt are required to follow approved curricula and comply with attendance and assessment requirements.
The statement follows public debate over homeschooling arrangements reportedly linked to some international schools offering the American Diploma.
The ministry said it identified schools enrolling students under homeschooling arrangements last month. Any international school found offering such programmes could face legal action, with the ministry stating that the measures are intended to protect students’ rights and ensure continuity of education.
