Makkah Tour Introduces Umrah Companies to New Visitor Experiences

More than 70 Umrah companies, international agents and travel and tourism firms took part in an introductory tour of Makkah aimed at expanding the range of destinations and experiences included in Umrah programmes.

The tour was organised on August 25th, 2026 by the Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites in cooperation with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. Participating entities collectively represented more than three million Umrah performers during 1447 AH.

The programme was designed to familiarise travel partners with destinations, attractions and services that could be added to existing Umrah itineraries, allowing companies to combine the pilgrimage with visits to historical and cultural sites across Makkah.

Participants visited four destinations and took part in four experiences, alongside tours of several landmarks in the city. They were also introduced to the Discover Makkah platform, which provides information for visitors and industry partners looking to plan trips and explore available attractions.

The initiative is intended to encourage a broader range of Umrah packages and give international operators more material to work with when designing itineraries for pilgrims.

Following the tour, several companies began discussions around developing new products linked to the Umrah experience, while international firms announced packages targeting markets outside Saudi Arabia.
