Jazan Mountains to Introduce Blue Tea Cultivation

The Jazan Mountains Development Authority has adopted the cultivation of blue tea in the mountainous areas of the Jazan Region as part of efforts to support rural development and expand sustainable agricultural activity.

According to the authority, the initiative focuses on introducing the crop across the region's highland terrain through a programme aimed at promoting agriculture suited to local environmental conditions.

The move forms part of broader efforts to strengthen sustainable farming practices in Jazan's mountainous zones and encourage the cultivation of crops considered compatible with the region's geography and agricultural methods.

The authority described blue tea as a natural product distinguished by its nutritional value, unique flavour and distinctive natural colour.

It said these characteristics make the crop suitable for cultivation in elevated areas.

The project is part of a wider framework focused on supporting rural communities and promoting sustainable agriculture in Jazan's mountain belt through the adoption of crops aligned with local conditions.
