Integrated Transport Centre Launches AI Planning Platform
The DUNE platform combines AI, transport modelling and simulations to assess mobility projects and policies across Abu Dhabi.
The Integrated Transport Centre has launched DUNE, a new digital platform designed to support transport planning and assess future mobility needs across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
Unveiled during the Livability and Investment Exhibition 2026, the platform combines Agentic AI technologies with the Strategic Transport Evaluation and Analysis Modelling framework, or STEAM+, bringing artificial intelligence, data analytics, transport models and advanced simulation tools into a single environment.
DUNE allows planners to test different transport and development scenarios before implementation and assess their potential effects. The system can be used to evaluate public transport projects, infrastructure investments, urban development plans and proposed mobility policies.
The platform is also intended to improve coordination between transport and urban planning by bringing analytical and modelling tools together within one system. This is designed to help align future transport projects and investment decisions with projected urban growth across the emirate.
The platform will support planners in comparing alternatives before projects or policies are introduced, with a focus on improving mobility efficiency, supporting sustainable urban development and responding to changing transport demand across the emirate.
