Health Ministry Warns Against Energy Drinks During Exams
The ministry said energy drinks do not improve concentration or academic performance, despite the temporary alertness caused by caffeine and sugar.
The Ministry of Health and Population has warned students against relying on energy drinks during study and exam periods, saying they do not improve concentration or academic performance.
In a public awareness post, the ministry described the belief that energy drinks help students study better as a common myth. It said the temporary sense of alertness some consumers experience comes from high doses of caffeine and sugar rather than any lasting benefit to focus or learning.
The ministry added that these short-term stimulant effects do not outweigh the health risks associated with energy drinks and urged students and parents not to treat revision or exam season as a reason to consume them regularly.
According to the advisory, the perceived boost in alertness is temporary and does not translate into better academic outcomes.
