Health Ministry Launches 'Hanetghayar' Campaign for 7 Million Students

The Ministry of Health and Population has launched ‘Hanetghayar’, a school health campaign targeting around 7 million students during the first semester of the 2026/27 academic year. The programme will also include comprehensive medical examinations for approximately 5.5 million students across 21 governorates.

The campaign focuses on healthy nutrition, physical activity, smoking prevention, violence and bullying, and the responsible use of technology, with parents and teachers included in the wider awareness programme. Around 4,500 trained medical teams are expected to operate across approximately 38,800 educational facilities, while school health teams and education staff will receive training in first aid and emergency response.

The ministry said the initiative is also intended to standardise health messaging across schools and strengthen the capabilities of education and health personnel. Preparations included 60 health days held during the summer break, involving 1,492 students and 1,265 parents in sessions covering nutrition, healthy lifestyles, physical activity and prevention of smoking, addiction, violence and bullying.
