Egyptian Musician & Actor Hany Shaker Dies at 73

Iconic Egyptian actor, singer, composer and former president of the Egyptian Musicians Syndicate Hany Shaker has died at age 73, after a long battle with illness. Shaker passed away in France, where he was receiving treatment.

Over his lifetime, Shaker became famous for his massive discography, after he made his first appearance as part of Abdelhalim Hafez’s choral group in ‘Sora’, and became popular for his role as young Sayed Darwish in the movie ‘Sayed Darwish’.
