Dubai Government Staff to Adopt Four-Day Summer Work Week
The flexible schedule returns for a second year, running from June 29th to September 10th.
Eligible Dubai government employees will be able to adopt a four-day working week over the summer as part of the 'Our Flexible Summer' scheme, which runs from June 29th to September 10th.
Under the programme, employees can choose between two flexible schedules. The first allows staff to work seven-hour days from Monday to Thursday, followed by a four-and-a-half-hour shift on Friday. The second option consists of eight-hour working days from Monday to Thursday, with Friday taken as an additional day off.
The initiative is designed to support employee wellbeing while maintaining institutional performance and productivity.
According to the Dubai Government Human Resources Department, the programme builds on the results of last year's pilot, which found that flexible working arrangements can enhance employee wellbeing without compromising organisational performance.
The scheme returns for a second consecutive year as part of broader efforts to promote more flexible and people-centric government workplaces while supporting productivity, innovation and long-term institutional sustainability.
