DCT Abu Dhabi Upgrades Holiday Home Licensing Platform

The Department of Culture and Tourism — Abu Dhabi has upgraded its holiday home regulatory platform to streamline licensing, approvals and compliance for property owners and operators.

The enhanced system is designed to reduce approval times, simplify licensing procedures and provide a more flexible digital experience for companies and individuals operating holiday homes.

Beyond licensing, the platform adds tools for compliance tracking, inspections and revenue management, while improving integration with other government entities involved in the sector.

The department said the system is intended to strengthen quality and safety standards by giving regulators and operators clearer oversight of regulatory requirements and inspection processes.

The platform has also been designed to comply with required data protection policies, with controls around how sensitive information is stored and managed.

The latest upgrade builds on changes introduced in 2024, when the department integrated the holiday home licensing system with the Department of Municipalities and Transport and introduced a self-inspection function.

Those earlier changes reduced permit issuance times to under six hours. The current phase expands the platform further across approvals, compliance and inter-agency coordination.
