40 Air-Conditioned Rest Areas Ready for Dubai Delivery Riders

Approximately 40 air-conditioned rest areas for delivery riders are fully operational across Dubai ahead of the summer season, according to the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
Maintenance and preparatory work have been completed at all designated sites, which are equipped with indoor seating, water dispensers, mobile phone charging stations and dedicated motorcycle parking. The facilities are located in several high-demand delivery areas, including Hessa Street, Al Khawaneej, Al Barsha, Al Satwa, Oud Maitha, Al Karama and Arjan.
According to the RTA, the locations were selected based on operational data and a study conducted in coordination with delivery companies to identify areas with the highest concentration of rider activity.
Each rest area is designed to reduce exposure to direct sunlight while maintaining visibility and providing thermal insulation. Depending on the location, each facility can accommodate around 10 riders at a time.
The authority said the initiative is intended to improve traffic safety, reduce accident risks and enhance the quality of life of delivery riders, while encouraging compliance with traffic laws and regulations.
