The Voice of Hind Rajab Will Be Screened at Cairo Film Festival

Cairo International Film Festival will conclude its 46th edition with the African Premiere of The Voice of Hind Rajab, Kaouther Ben Hania’s latest film, on November 21st.

Running from November 12th to 21st, the festival selected the Tunisian–French co-production following its Silver Lion – Grand Jury Prize win at Venice, where it drew critical acclaim and a record 24-minute standing ovation.

Blending fiction and documentary, the film revisits the story of Hind Rajab, a six-year-old Palestinian girl killed by Israel in January 2024. Her desperate call to emergency services became a haunting global symbol of Israel’s genocide in Gaza.

Festival president Hussein Fahmy called the film “a voice for justice and freedom,” while artistic director Mohamed Tarek praised it as proof of Arab cinema’s power to carry Palestine’s story to the world.
