Dubai Number Plate Auction Nets Nearly AED 98 Million
The 119th open auction at Grand Hyatt Dubai Hotel featured 90 plates across codes from two to five digits.

The Roads and Transport Authority generated AED 97.95 million at its 119th open auction for distinctive vehicle number plates in Dubai. The highest bid went to BB 88 at AED 14 million. Other top sales included Y 31 at AED 6.27 million, M 78 at AED 6 million, and BB 777 at AED 6 million.
The auction was held at the Grand Hyatt Dubai Hotel and offered 90 plates across codes AA, BB, K, L, M, N, P, Q, T, U, V, W, X, Y, and Z, ranging from two to five digits. Competition focused on the super plates BB 88 and BB 777, which drew strong interest from bidders.
Bidders were required to hold a Dubai traffic file and to submit a security cheque of AED 25,000 payable to the Roads and Transport Authority, along with a non-refundable entry fee of AED 120. Payments could also be made via the authority’s website. The Roads and Transport Authority stated that the auction followed a transparent and competitive framework with equal opportunities for participants, and noted the cultural and symbolic value of distinctive plates for collectors and motorists in the UAE.
