‘The Stories’ to Stream on Shahid From September 17th

‘The Stories’ will begin streaming on Shahid from September 17th, bringing the historical family drama to the platform following its theatrical release in Egypt.

The film - starring Nelly Karim, Amir El Masry and Valerie Pachner - follows aspiring Egyptian pianist Ahmed and his Austrian pen pal Liz as their relationship develops across the political and social upheavals of the late 1960s through the 1980s. Structured as an anthology, the story moves through different stages of their lives and is inspired by director Abu Bakr Shawky’s parents and how they met.

‘The Stories’ had its world premiere in the Official Competition of the 29th Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in November 2025 before opening in Egyptian cinemas on June 17th, 2026.
