Cairo's Darb 1718 Opens Its Doors to Independent Filmmakers
Cairo's Darb 1718 is calling on early-career filmmakers worldwide to submit short films celebrating culture and diaspora.
Darb 1718, a Cairo-based contemporary art spaces has launched an open call for short film submissions as part of a new monthly screening program.
The initiative is open to early-career filmmakers of all nationalities, with a focus on work that engages with cultural diversity, diaspora, and community. Filmmakers are invited to submit original, creative works that speak to lived cultural experiences - both within Egypt and abroad.
Selected films will be screened at Darb 1718 as part of an ongoing series of cultural events intended to showcase a wide range of traditions and identities. Submissions can be made by completing an application form on Darb 1718’s Instagram page.
