Aswan Women’s Film Festival Opens Submissions for 2027 Edition
Entries for the festival’s 11th edition will be accepted through FilmFreeway from August 20th to December 20th.
The Aswan International Women’s Film Festival is opening submissions for its 11th edition, set to take place from April 16th to 21st, 2027.
Submissions will be accepted through FilmFreeway from August 20th to December 20th. Eligible films must have been produced no later than 2026 and must not have received any form of public screening in Egypt.
The festival focuses on films that represent women’s creativity, including works directed by women or written for the screen by women, regardless of subject matter. Films made by men may also be considered if they address women’s empowerment, equality or longstanding and emerging challenges affecting women.
The programme includes two international competitions. The feature-length competition is open to fiction, documentary and animated films running at least 60 minutes, while the short film competition accepts fiction, documentary and animation of up to 60 minutes.
