Ahmed Malek's Award-Winning Film 'Colonia' Hits Shahid on June 25th
'Colonia' is the Egyptian drama that made Ahmed Malek the first Egyptian actor to win Best Actor at El Gouna Film Festival.
Egyptian drama ‘Colonia’, directed by Mohamed Siam in his narrative feature debut, begins streaming on Shahid on June 25th.
The film premiered internationally under the title ‘My Father’s Scent’ and has since earned recognition on both the festival circuit and at the box office. Starring Ahmed Malek and Kamel El Basha, the story unfolds over the course of a single night after a father awakens from a coma.

Siam co-wrote the screenplay with Ahmed Amer and produced the film alongside Mohamed Hefzy, with support from the Red Sea Fund, the Doha Film Institute and several European co-production partners. The film arrives on Shahid following a successful festival run.
Ahmed Malek won Best Actor at the El Gouna Film Festival, becoming the first Egyptian actor to receive the award, and later received the Creative Achievement Award at the Fajr International Film Festival.
