Two New Public Parks Planned in Riyadh

Two new public parks will be developed in Riyadh as part of Saudi Vision 2030, with the projects designed as integrated urban destinations rather than conventional green spaces, according to the Riyadh Region Municipality.

The municipality said the parks will be located in the capital’s eastern and southern districts and will collectively cover 317,200 square metres. A scenic valley will serve as the central functional and visual element in both developments, anchoring the design and shaping circulation and activity zones. The projects are aligned with national quality-of-life objectives aimed at increasing access to green public spaces across the city.

Planned facilities include a golf course, multi-purpose sports fields and dedicated jogging tracks. Family-oriented features will include children’s play areas and water features, while cultural infrastructure will comprise a theatre and designated spaces for public events and performances.
Commercial components are also planned, with restaurants and cafés integrated into the sites to support year-round activity and encourage extended use throughout the day. The municipality said this mix of recreational, cultural and commercial elements is intended to create active destinations that serve a wide range of residents and visitors.
