Sinovac Vaccine Production to Be Sped up With an Expedited Timeline
Egypt and Sinovac have created an expedited timeline for vaccine production.

At a time where inoculation rates remain low and COVID-19 cases are witnessing a modest uptick, Egypt and Sinovac are working to expedite the timeline for the transfer of vaccine production technology. The parties agreed to accelerate the building of a fully automated warehouse with a storage capacity of 150 million doses. The facility will be established at the new VACSERA complex in 6th of October City which will produce a variation of vaccines.
Egypt is set to open the region’s largest factory of locally produced COVID-19 vaccines in the complex with plans to produce more than one billion doses of the Chinese Sinovac, positioning Egypt as a hub for vaccine export to Africa.
Egypt has already locally produced millions of Sinovac doses through VACSERA and began distributing the vaccines for domestic consumption in the summer of 2021.
