Scene Cinemas at District 5 Introduces IMAX with Laser to Egypt
Scene Cinemas has become the first movie theatre in Egypt to use this cutting-edge technology, starting with their showing of Ridley Scott’s Napoleon.
Scene Cinemas, the premier movie theatre at District 5 in Marakez, is bringing IMAX with Laser to Egypt for the first time!
IMAX with Laser is a cutting-edge laser projection and multi-channel sound system exclusive to IMAX theatres. If IMAX was already giving you that immersive ‘wow I can really feel Oppenheimer blowing me up with a nuclear bomb’ experience, IMAX with Laser turns that feeling all the way up to 11 with a 4K laser projection system that brings you even higher resolution, contrast and brightness, as well as next-generation IMAX precision sound that delivers perfectly tuned sound that gets evenly distributed all throughout the theatre.
Amongst the first movies to be shown with this system is ‘Napoleon’, the epic historical drama (albeit not strictly historically accurate - the man did not shoot a cannon at the pyramids, Mr. Ridley Scott), which has been digitally remastered specifically for the new system with proprietary IMAX DMR (Digital Media Remastering) technology. You will never be able to see Joacquin Phoenix sport that giant fancy French hat more clearly than this.
They’ll be following it up with ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’, the highly-anticipated sequel to DC’s oceanic superhero flick, starting December 21st. The action-adventure was filmed especially with IMAX-certified cameras, meaning you’ll have the closest and most high-definition possible view of Jason Mamoa’s sea-soaked abs without going out to dinner with him first.
