Red Sea International Film Festival Opens Submissions for 2025 Edition
Filmmakers can submit entries until August 17th, with free submissions available until July 7th.

The Red Sea International Film Festival has officially opened submissions for its fifth edition, which will run from December 4th to the 13th in Jeddah’s historic Al-Balad district.
Filmmakers from Saudi Arabia, the wider Arab region, Africa, and Asia are invited to submit their works by August 17th, 2025. Submissions received before July 7th will be free of charge, while later entries will require a fee of SAR 100 for short films and SAR 200 for features.
Films may be entered into one of three main categories. The Red Sea Competition highlights outstanding narrative, documentary, and animated works from Asia, Africa, and the Arab world. The Red Sea Shorts Competition focuses on original films under 60 minutes, while New Saudi/New Cinema showcases emerging talent from the Kingdom’s growing film industry.
Now in its fifth year, the festival has become a leading platform for celebrating regional and international storytelling, and continues to draw a growing number of filmmakers and industry professionals to Jeddah each December.
