Railbus’ Dubai Hub to Drive Solar-Powered Transit Development by 2026

Solar-powered transport startup Railbus has announced that its 50,000-square-foot development hub in Dubai Silicon Oasis is on track for completion by May 2026. The facility will serve as the company’s central base for designing and engineering its elevated transport network, described as lightweight, modular, and built to bypass dense urban congestion.

The site will include dedicated spaces for structural design, rapid prototyping, fabrication, testing, and collaboration with global suppliers. According to Railbus, the hub will support the full product lifecycle, from initial design simulations to final system integration, and will also feature a showroom and boardroom for vehicle demonstrations and investor briefings.

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority has already shown interest in the system, revealing plans earlier this year for a network of autonomous Railbus vehicles capable of carrying up to 40 passengers at speeds of 100kph. By using modular tracks and non-corrosive materials, the company aims to reduce infrastructure costs compared to conventional metro systems.

Designed for rapid off-site assembly and minimal urban disruption, the Dubai hub will act as the nerve centre for Railbus’ operations and serve as a foundation for exporting its transit model to other fast-growing cities.
