National Drone Cybersecurity Guidelines Launched in the UAE

The UAE Cybersecurity Council (CSC) has revealed the development of the country’s first national Drone Cybersecurity Guidelines, marking a key step in safeguarding unmanned aerial systems against emerging cyber threats.

The initiative is a result of strategic collaboration with Reach Digital, a subsidiary of Reach Group focused on digital transformation and cybersecurity innovation, and Shieldworkz, a specialist in operational technology (OT), Internet of Things (IoT), and drone protection technologies.

This initiative aligns with the UAE’s broader vision to position itself as a global hub for innovation, while reinforcing its national cybersecurity posture across all digital domains. With drones increasingly integrated into sectors such as agriculture, logistics, and environmental monitoring, the guidelines aim to establish a unified framework for secure UAV deployment across government, commercial, and industrial applications.

The guidelines address a growing need for proactive security measures amid rapid adoption of drone technologies. From manufacturing and deployment to data management and airspace control, they offer sector-specific protections and protocols designed to minimise risk across the UAV lifecycle.
