Minister of Health Launches Nationwide Screening Campaign
The nationwide Taakkad initiative offers essential preventive tests through primary healthcare centres and a drive-through model in Riyadh.
A nationwide preventive health screening campaign titled Taakkad is being rolled out across Saudi Arabia, offering 10 essential tests through primary healthcare centres in all regions and cities of the Kingdom.
The initiative, overseen by Fahad AlJalajel and implemented by Health Holding Company and its affiliated clusters, includes the introduction of a drive-through Taakkad Center in Riyadh to facilitate periodic screenings.
Services provided under the programme include checks for blood pressure, obesity, colorectal cancer and breast cancer. The drive-through model is designed to streamline access to preventive care and encourage early detection before conditions require advanced treatment.
During an inspection of the Riyadh centre, screening pathways and operational systems were reviewed with a focus on speed, accuracy and service quality. The campaign aligns with the Health Sector Transformation Program, which aims to improve efficiency, accessibility and preventive care delivery within the national health system.
The Taakkad initiative forms part of broader efforts to strengthen early detection frameworks and embed preventive healthcare practices across primary care services throughout the Kingdom.
