King Salman Gate Project Announced Next to Grand Mosque in Makkah
Developed by Rua AlHaram AlMakki, a Public Investment Fund subsidiary, the project will link to public transport and restore about 19,000 square metres of heritage sites.

The King Salman Gate Project, a major mixed-use development beside the Grand Mosque in Makkah, has been revealed as part of ongoing plans to enhance infrastructure, services, and cultural preservation in the holy city.
Spanning 12 million square metres, the project is being developed by Rua AlHaram AlMakki Company, a subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund (PIF). It will bring together residential, cultural, hospitality, commercial, and public spaces in a single integrated destination.
The master plan includes capacity for 900,000 people across indoor and outdoor prayer spaces, improved pedestrian and public transport access, and the restoration of 19,000 square metres of heritage areas to maintain Makkah’s historic and spiritual character.
Developed in line with Vision 2030, the project is projected to support economic diversification, strengthen the city’s infrastructure, and create more than 300,000 jobs by 2036.
