Egypt’s fresh and processed agricultural exports reached USD 11.5 billion in 2025, accounting for about 24% of the country’s total exports, according to Alaa Farouk, Egypt’s Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation.
Speaking at the annual suhoor organised by the Horticultural Export Improvement Association (HEIA), Farouk said total agricultural export volumes reached 9.5 million tonnes during the year, marking an increase of around 800,000 tonnes compared with 2024.
Citrus fruits remained Egypt’s leading agricultural export, reaching roughly 2 million tonnes. The shipments helped maintain Egypt’s position as the world’s largest exporter of oranges for the sixth consecutive year.
Potatoes ranked second among exported crops at approximately 1.3 million tonnes, while other products including sweet potatoes, onions, grapes, strawberries and mangoes also recorded export growth.
