Dubai Population Doubles to Nearly 4 Million in Just 15 Years

Dubai's population is on the verge of crossing a rare milestone as it reaches 3,999,247 as of August 25th, marking an increase of more than 134,000 people since the start of 2025. The pace of growth averages 567 new residents per day, underscoring the city’s rapid demographic expansion.

The past 12 months have seen the fastest annual rise in Dubai’s recent history, with the population growing by over 200,000 during the period. Both Emiratis and expatriates have contributed to this surge. The Emirati population alone rose by 2.5% in 2024, reaching nearly 300,000 - the highest figure ever recorded.

Dubai’s population has doubled in less than 15 years, climbing from two million in December 2011 to nearly four million today. Once a small trading town of around 175,000 half a century ago, the city’s transformation reflects its role as a global hub for commerce and investment.
