Dubai Health Reports 150% Rise in Emirati Nurses
Emirati nurses increased from 48 in 2023 to 120, with 25 new hires onboarded at Ru’ya Careers UAE 2025 in Dubai.

Dubai Health has reported a 150% increase in the number of Emirati nurses under its employ, rising from 48 in 2023 to 120. The announcement was marked with the appointment of 25 new Emirati nurses on the opening day of Ru’ya Careers UAE 2025 in Dubai. Each new appointee received a “Patient First” pin and pledged to place patients at the centre of their practice.
Dubai Health stated that its overall nursing workforce across all nationalities now exceeds 4,400. The organisation also highlighted that directives from Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to name the College of Nursing and Midwifery at Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences after Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum have contributed to greater interest in the profession.
The Hind Bint Maktoum College of Nursing and Midwifery currently offers master’s degrees, postgraduate diplomas, and specialist certificates in intensive, paediatric, cardiac, and emergency nursing, with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing programme set to launch soon.
According to Dubai Health, its participation at Ru’ya Careers UAE 2025 aims to highlight career pathways and provide direct employment opportunities across its integrated academic health system, with a focus on empowering Emiratis to take on key roles in the healthcare sector.
