Dubai Airports to Launch Red Carpet Biometric Arrivals at Terminal 3
Processing will take as little as six seconds and up to 14 seconds, with groups of eight to ten clearing together.
Dubai Airports has confirmed the extension of its “Red Carpet” biometric fast-track corridor to arriving passengers at Dubai International Airport’s Terminal 3 within the next two months. The move follows the success of the departure version of the service, which cut processing times to between six and 14 seconds. According to Dubai Airports, the system is capable of processing individual passengers in as little as six seconds and groups of eight to ten at once using real-time biometric data. The corridor is designed to reduce wait-times and streamline visa-control procedures without travellers having to present documents or stop. The deployment of this technology is part of a broader operational ecosystem that uses artificial intelligence to monitor aircraft positioning and optimise processes across ground and airside operations. Strong traffic projections ahead of the winter holiday season are being matched by flexible operational plans to accommodate high volumes.
