Daylight Saving Time Starts In Egypt on April 24th 2026
Clocks will move forward by 60 minutes nationwide starting the last Friday in April.
Egypt will begin daylight saving time on April 24th, 2026, advancing clocks by 60 minutes at midnight on the last Friday of April.
The change applies nationwide, in line with the fixed annual schedule set by Egyptian law. Under Law No. 34 of 2023, the country’s official time is moved forward by one hour from the last Friday of April until the end of the last Thursday of October each year.
Winter time resumes at midnight on the last Thursday of October. The law was ratified on April 16th, 2023, and stipulates that it comes into force the day after its publication in the Official Gazette. Egypt reinstated daylight saving time in April 2023.
The one-hour shift is intended to make better use of longer daylight hours during spring and summer, reducing reliance on artificial lighting in the evenings and helping ease pressure on electricity consumption.
