150 Housing Units to Be Built Annually for Low-Income Dubai Citizens
The plan complements wider housing measures and sits alongside a strategy to develop more than 17,000 residential units for skilled professionals.
The Bayti initiative will deliver 150 housing units every year in Dubai for low income Emiratis, with the programme focused on providing suitable homes that enable citizens to build or complete housing that meets their needs and supports family stability. The Bayti initiative committee approved the annual construction plan during a meeting at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment headquarters.
This measure builds on earlier housing steps in Dubai, including plans announced in March for rental units ranging from studios to three bedroom apartments at affordable rates across six sites in Al Mueisim 1, Al Twar 1, Al Qusais Industrial 5, and Al Leyan 1. The first phase covers land totalling 1.46 million square metres allocated by Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed.
Dubai is also progressing a wider strategy to develop more than 17,000 residential units for working professionals across both the public and private sectors.
