Saudi Venture Capital Invests in $200M Growth Catalyst Fund I
The fund will back growth-stage companies across Saudi Arabia and the GCC.
Saudi Venture Capital (SVC) has announced a strategic investment in Growth Catalyst Fund I, a private equity fund managed by Growth Catalyst Investment Company. The fund, which targets a hard cap of $200 million, is designed to provide capital and operational expertise to companies at the growth and expansion stages across Saudi Arabia and the GCC.
The fund focuses on several high-growth sectors, including healthcare, education, consumer goods, food and beverage, and renewable energy. By targeting the regional mid-market, the fund aims to bridge the gap between founder-led scaling and full-scale institutionalization.
Nora Alsarhan, Deputy CEO and CIO of SVC, stated that the investment reflects the company's commitment to deepening the private equity market. “This partnership reflects a shared conviction in the transformative potential of Saudi Arabia's mid-market,” she said. “A segment we believe is the true engine room of Vision 2030.”
Turki Aldayel, Founder and CEO of Growth Catalyst Investment Company, described the mid-market as the engine room of the regional economy. "Our fund is purpose-built to back founder-led businesses at the critical inflection point between scale and institutionalization," Aldayel said, adding that the partnership with SVC will help build the next generation of regional champions.
While the fund is rooted in the Saudi market, it arrives at a time of deepening economic integration between Saudi Arabia and Egypt. Industry analysts expect the fund to serve as a vital resource for Egyptian scale-ups looking to establish a permanent footprint in the Kingdom. With Egyptian firms in healthcare and F&B increasingly viewing Riyadh as a primary hub for regional expansion, Growth Catalyst Fund I is positioned to provide patient capital and operational support.
